    The Acadian Memorial

    Dedicated to the 3,000 men, women and chilren who took refuge in Louisiana after being exiled from Acadia by British forces in the 18th century, the Acadian Memorial features a mural, a wall of names, a multimedia center and a museum. The memorial site features theatrical presentations by costumed actors who explore the plight of the Acadians.

    E.D. White Plantation Home - Louisiana State Museum

    Located on the banks of Bayou Lafourche near Thibodaux, this historic plantation home dates anywhere from the late 18th century to the 1830s. Due to contrasting architectural features it is difficult to determine the exact age of the home. The house provides an example of the raised cottage design popular in southern Louisiana prior to the Civil war.
