Francophone culture also figures highly on the Gulf Coast and there are a number of festivals throughout the year celebrating the area's French heritage. One popular annual draw in the area is the Abbeville Giant Omelette Celebration, which includes the creation of a 5,000 egg omelette that, once cooked, is fed to residents and visitors. There are also several golf courses in the area that are part of the Audubon Golf Trail, a route which features a series of courses that reflect Louisiana's natural beauty.
